Hello! 👋

I’m Melanie Williamson, a children’s mural artist and book illustrator, based in Manchester, UK.

With over 23-years’ experience I have over 50 published books in several languages to my name, most notably the Pirate Pete and Princess Polly series.

My latest book project is the 12-book series Billy and the Mini Monsters for Usborne Publishing, written by the wonderful Zanna Davidson.

For two years running it’s been selected for the Reading Agency’s Summer Reading Challenge, and nominated for the 2019 Sheffield Children’s Book Award.

Publishing clients include: Barefoot Books, Cambridge University Press, Harper Collins, Hodder Children's, Egmont, Ladybird Books, Oxford University Press, Pearson Education and Usborne Publishing.

For Books, I’m represented by the lovely Heather Richards at Tall Bean.

I also design clothing and art prints featuring my characters, for sale on my ethical shop Flapping Frank and Etsy store.

All 100% cruelty-free and vegan-friendly, printed-to-order using organic-certified cotton, recycled paper, water-based inks and renewable energy, and shipped in plastic-free packaging.
